Neighborhood

Phoenix is ranked a walker’s paradise by Walkscore.com – a national organization dedicated to improving the walkability of urban neighborhoods.  We’re an easy walk to a full grocery, coffee shops, a full movie theatre, parks, restaurants, a drug store, live theatre bike trails --  even a self-serve dog wash!

From haute couture for you or the ultimate in pooch accessories, the neighborhood’s boutiques are an easy walk. For basics, nearby Lunds offers a full grocery, pharmacy and delivery. Travel guides rave about Surdyk’s Liquors and Cheese Shop; for Phoenix owners, it’s the secret to entertaining on moment’s notice.

Chef-driven fine dining and casual burgers on the patio are equally accessible and equally good! The neighborhood’s restaurant choices include classics like Nye’s Polanaise, as well as Cuban, Spanish and other ethnic fare. Sip a beverage overlooking the river or wake up with an espresso and croissant at The Aster.

Indulge your mood of the moment with live theatre, music, art and nightclubs in the neighborhood. The Guthrie is just across the river with dozens of galleries and music spots close at hand. Sports venues too, are conveniently close including the new Target Field, Metrodome, and the TCF stadium at the U of M.

Tree-lined trails along the river and the green Father Hennepin Park across from the Phoenix are jewels in the city. Hop on a bike path or walk out to see the falls on the Water Power Pier. The river also offers an entry point for kayaking and public tennis courts are nearby in one of the city’s famed neighborhood parks. Indoor recreation includes gyms, yoga/pilates classes or of course, the Phoenix’ private fitness center.
